The only chronograph movement who can withstand high shocks without the sweep secondhand stopping : the chronograph functions are powered directly. Can withstand acceleration of up to 7 g, without the accuracy decreasing noticeably. A legendary robustness with very few claims for services even in its military use.
* As a reminder the MIG 29 is in service in the German airforce (they used to be in service in the former DDR), so the answer of our Lemania 5100 is perfectly correct in an aviation point of view …. |

Construction
"Built as a Rock !"

The calibre’s bridges, plates and balance cock are built as a pillar construction. The pillar construction is very unusual in modern wristwatches or chronographs : it is a technology generally used in old mechanical wristwatches or a mechanical alarm clocks. The Pillar construction means that the cock and bridges are attached to the main plate by thin pillars. In modern designs, the cock and bridges are terrace-like and mounted directly onto the main plate. The big advantage of the Pillar construction is manufacturing cost because parts can be stamped , where the modern designs need milled plates The chronograph mechanism navette-type, the calibre has a large Glucydur balance. Nivarox 1 flat hairspring, Triovis regulator, Kif-Flector shock absorber (comparable system to "incabloc" but not with the same design). Many nylon pieces can be found in the caliber such as : day and date wheels, automatic winding mechanism reduction gear and the two "half moons" that support the rotor (see detailled pics of the movement at the end of this page) |

We can hope that this unique design will remain in production for a certain time , unfortunatly persistent rumors are heard that the Lemania 5100 might go to retirement , hopefully a gouvernement contract links Tutima and German air forces to supply chronographs with the Lemania 5100 movement , but at the end of this contract it might be possible that the Lemania 5100 will definitely disappear from new watches
