I’ve
determined the accuracy of my new AT Chrono: +1"/3 days!
Needless to say, this has exceeded my expectations. Jean-Michel’s Speedmaster
site has a interesting section on the 33XX movement and the apparent controversy
surrounding performance issues with early movements. Like J-M’s BA, I am happy
to report that any problems with the 33XX are in the past. [I am very happy
and certainly would’ve added a smiley face to the post, but I can’t figure
out how everyone adds those icons.] Since I’ve had this watch only 5 days,
I’ll report new data in a month or two.
Conditions during the test:
Watch was worn daily for regular activities. Chronograph function was employed routinely for tasks ranging from 2" (playing with the pushers) to nearly 2 hours. Also worn during sporting activity: 15-mile mountain bike ride through ice and snow. Watch was removed and stored face-up at night.

"My Omega Broad Arrow belongs to the earliest batch. Problems? NO. After 2 years wearing, everything works perfectly, and the precision is simply amazing: < +1 second/day. Sometimes, I thought it was quartz. Also, the movement is performing consistantly, regardless of positions. I can tell that 3303 is definitely a grade higher than 1120 and 2500 movements. "

"I finally got a response from Omega regarding the problems they have had with the 33xx movements. They said the "teething" problems that they had with the movements have been identified and corrected in all current models. They said that there was no recall because the problem was not that great and was handled by their service facilities. They also assured me to buy with confidence because they would correct any problems under warranty. Since I already purchased the watch, it was nice to get this e-mail. "

have nearly constantly wear my Speedmaster Broad arrow for 2 weeks now (it
became for sure my favourite !!)
here is a very first feed back after two weeks :
first of all absolutly no problem concerning the movement , I use very fequently the chronograph for my job and had NO problems … I was a little bit scared by an old reputation of the Omega 33xx but apparently Omega completly fix the problem
secondly I have with the Broad Arrow my most accurate watch : measured on my timing machine (I personnally use a Microset Precision Clock and watch Timer : http://www.bmumford.com/microset.html)
Result
on timing machine :
flat position : +1,2 s/day
side position : +0,7 sec day
upside down : + 0,9 sec/day
Result after 14 days of wear (watch wear daily except 2 days on initial power reserve , stored in flat position by night) : accuracy checked with syncro on atomic clock :
+ 12 seconds in 14 days ! = 0,85 sec/day
My Broad Arrow have the serial number 7802XXXX"

Broad Arrow gains +6s / per day in the past 9 months, not the amazing accuracy
as yours, but very stable no matter which position I placed at night, or wear
it at work, or during sports. If I use timing function no more than 1 hour
totally a day, the accuracy remains.
The impressive point is the power reserve, it can easily gain enough energy
to run 24 hours after one hour sports, 3303 is a surperb caliber to 7750 anway.
Anyway, my watch was being serviced by Omega early this year. "

"I have a Seamaster Olympic Chrono, the London 1948 edition. It is powered by the 3303 and I bought it new in the UK in October 2004.
Since then the watch has averaged a daily rate of +5 seconds and has been super stable.
I also own an 1861 Caliber Speedmaster and whilst it is a fab movement, it just doesn’t feel the same when you start/stop the chrono and reset to zero.
There is something very satisfying about the 3303 which cannot be matched
by a non column wheel calber, my old 1965 built 321 equipped straight lug
Speedmaster is the same!

"Omega Speedmaster Racing, 3301.Purchased Dec 2004, Singapore. Just my contribution to your 33xx article.
In the first week, only +6s, second week, +15s, which I felt was pretty good.
Have used the chrono a couple of times, some short runs (a couple of minutes) and some as long as 6 – 9 hours.

happy
with the watch, which is my second Omega. "

I received my 2589.30 in mid-September of 2004. Silver dialed “america’s cup” style seamaster chronograph chronometer with the 3303 inside.
I always time a watch for the first few days to see how it does out of the box and new. I prefer wrist or “real world” measurements instead of a winder test. this watch was a steady +2 seconds per day..over it first 6 days on the wrist . In these first few days I also repeatedly used the chrono function at least 3-4 times per day. I put it through it’s paces so to speak. I’ve worn it many times since and always use the chrono function.
So far..not even a hint of any problem. Pushers and mechanism feel very solid.
I recently did another timing (5 weeks old) and it was still a steady +2 seconds per day (no deviation what so ever!). just like my AT…this modern omega is amazingly stable!
It’s been running fantastic since day one and I’m very pleased with all of my results.
Being so early makes opinions only available but mine is that these 33xx movements are fine. The early bugs a few of the movements had may well be a thing of the past.4484787c"

ce qui concerne la Speedmaster Legend, je l’ai achetée cet été
(le 12 08 2004).
Je dois dire que c’est la montre la plus précise que je possède
(calibre 3301). A ce jour, je n’ai rencontré aucun problème
avec les fonctions du chronographe.
Le remontage automatique est trés efficace, même en bougeant
peu (travail de bureau), et la réserve de marche remarquable.
Le numéro de série est 7809XXXX."

I must say that it is the most precise watch I own (cal 3301). To this day I have never faced any problems with chronograph functions.
The automatic winding is very efficient, even with few movements (office work), and the power reserve is outstanding.
